Cecil Rorabeck

Dr. Cecil Rorabeck entered the medical community after graduating from Western University in 1968 with his M.D. From there he completed his Orthopaedic surgical training at the University of Toronto and in 2009 he was granted an honorary D.Sc. from Western University.

In his time as a highly esteemed member of this community he has held roles as the Interim Chief Executive Officer and Scientific Director of Robarts Research Institute around founding the Canadian chapter of Operation Walk and travels with the organization each year to Guatemala as part of team to provide free hip and knee replacements to locals and training to resident-volunteers. In 2012, he was appointed an officer of the Order of Canada for his contributions to orthopaedic medicine and he was made president of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2013.
